Cooling Tower Pump VSD Energy Saving Trial

At 45 Hz operation, the measured operating current decreased from approximately 35 A to 23 A. Based on the trial calculation and operating assumptions, this represents an estimated 34% reduction in energy cost, equivalent to approximately Rp10.68 million per month or Rp128.17 million per year. The trial also demonstrates the potential for a Savings-Based VSD Upgrade, where customers can convert conventional motor controls to VSD without a large upfront CAPEX. The investment can be recovered progressively through the electricity OPEX savings generated by the VSD, with an estimated break-even period of approximately 4–6 months, subject to actual operating conditions.
